Sources and review

We prioritise public information from authorities and cultural institutions, museums, research organisations, reputable publications, and verified testimony from communities, practitioners and tradition bearers. Changing information is rechecked before publication.

Visual and cultural context

Documentary photographs, archival records, illustration and digital composition serve different purposes. Illustrated maps support storytelling and discovery; they are not precise navigation or proof of current conditions.
